But the sheer amounts of wrapping paper, bags, tissue, and bows involved may give the eco-friendly family pause.... One of the most wasteful parts of the holidays is packaging and gift-wrap. Tons of paper are thrown away this time of year (literally), and although some (though not all) gift wrap can be recycled, much is not.
